Randolph Softball Battles Valiantly Against Top Ranked Morris Knolls But Comes Up Short

RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph softball team fought hard and kept things close for most of the game against top-ranked and undefeated Morris Knolls, but ultimately came up short by the score of 5-2. ( game photos in link at end of story )

Knolls came in undefeated at 11-0 and ranked in the top-5 in the state, and the Lady Rams made them sweat for most of the game.  Brianna Colburn pitched valiantly, holding the Golden Eagles to only 1 earned run in the game while striking out 4 and scattering 9 hits.

Going into the top of the sixth inning only leading by 1 run, Knolls scored an un-earned run to take a 3-1 lead.  In the seventh, they tacked on two more un-earned runs that came as a result of errors for a 5-1 lead.

Randolph was held to three hits however, in the game, with two of those being solo home runs by catcher Cassidy Smith.

Randolph then traveled to Lenape Valley and suffered a close 2-1 loss that brought their record to 8-5 on the season. Autumn Liebhauser had a huge game, going 4-for-4 with 4 stolen bases and a solo home run for the Lady Rams' only run.
