Swimming at Lake Welch returning; East Ramapo monitor leaving: Rockland Angle

Did you get a chance to go to one of the local Memorial Day parades? Tonight at 11:30, watchfires will be lit at four Rockland locations in memory of troops who didn't return from war.

Now that summer's unofficially underway, maybe you're wondering whether Lake Welch is swimmer-ready this season after a giant harmful algae bloom knocked out most of the 2022 season. The parks system says yes, and has put multiple measures in place to protect the 216-acre lake from a repeat HAB problem. Read more here.
