The renovation of the course in Franklin, Wis. would include a new irrigation system, a new cart path and a comprehensive practice facility, but the site would close for at least one full year for the project. The revisions, which also would require several holes to be re-routed, is being driven by the need to replace the single-row irrigation system at Whitnall Park, which was installed in the 1970s and is failing. If the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors approves the revisions, the course would close at the end of the 2024 season, remain closed for all of 2025 and would reopen in spring or early summer of 2026.
