An argument at a truck stop in Raceland has now lead to a suspect now facing manslaughter charges.

Police say the man that Duane Ryan Jr. punched during the confrontation has died.

"Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Lockport man has been charged with manslaughter," according to an LPSO news release.  "Ryan Jr., 32, has been arrested and charged in the death of Chris Chaisson Sr., 59, of Mathews."

It was this past Saturday that Ryan allegedly punched Chaisson in the head.

"Chaisson was transported to the hospital after the incident. On March 20, a family member reported the incident to LPSO, stating that Chiasson was on life support. Investigators identified Ryan as the suspect and took him into custody on March 20. At that time, he was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux and charged with second degree battery. Chiasson later died at the hospital. On March 23, an autopsy determined Chaisson’s death was caused by blunt force trauma."
