A North Carolina woman is in custody after a traffic stop in Georgia turned up several thousand dollars worth of drugs.
According to the Rabun County Sheriff's Office, after observing "multiple traffic violations" on May 24, 2023, a deputy pulled over Kerry Stratton, of Leicester, North Carolina.
After making contact with Stratton, deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, the sheriff's office said in an online release, "which revealed 6 kilos of suspected Cocaine and 8 ounces of suspected Marijuana."
Stratton was arrested and charged with Following too Closely, Failure to Maintain Lane, Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Distribute of Marijuana.
"The total value of the drugs seized is valued at approximately $183,000.00," the sheriff's office wrote.
As of May 26, Stratton was being held at the Rabun County Detention Center with no bond.
