A former “Family Feud” contestant’s jokes about marriage are raising eyebrows after he was accused of killing his estranged wife.

KHQA reports Timothy “Tim” Bliefnick, 39, of Quincy, Illinois, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion in the death of Rebecca “Becky” Bliefnick. She was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in February after failing to pick up their three children from school.

Becky, 41, was a nurse at Blessing Hospital, located 100 miles west of Springfield, and a mother of three boys.

The former couple married in 2009 but had reportedly separated several years ago and were going through divorce proceedings at the time of Becky’s death. Court documents show she had restraining orders against her estranged husband and her father-in-law; Tim Bliefnick later had a restraining order filed against her.

Fox News reports Tim and Becky Bliefnick appeared on “Family Feud” in January 2020 with Tim’s parents and siblings. The episode was taped in 2019 and notably featured Tim joking that his “biggest mistake” was getting married.

“What’s your biggest mistake you made at your wedding?,” host Steve Harvey asked Tim.

“Honey, I love you, but, ‘said I do,’” Tim said, sparking a mix of laughs and gasps from the audience.

“Not my mistake, not my mistake — I love my wife,” he added in a video clip from the game show. “I’m gonna get in trouble for that, aren’t I?”

According to KHQA, Tim Bliefnick is a former Quincy University football star who had been working in business development at Quincy Farm Products. The company said Bliefnick is no longer an employee and is fully cooperating with the Quincy Police Department’s investigation.

Bliefnick said he’s innocent of the crime, according to his attorney Casey Schnack. He is currently being held in the Adams County Jail after being denied bond at a hearing Tuesday.
