PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A large crowd joined the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors meeting on March 25. More than a dozen were employees of Gala’s Korona Candle facility in Dublin. The manufacturing site is set to close this spring, leaving roughly 60 people out of work.

Carroll boys open soccer season strong
Carroll County’s boys’ soccer team opened the season Friday with a 6-1 win over Pulaski County in Hillsville. Landon Puckett led the way with two goals in a balanced effort that saw five different Cavaliers score a goal. Teamates Giovanni Lopez, Yahir Ruiz, Manny Loznota and Daniel Torres-Lopez each added a goal. William Burnett helped the Cavalier offense go with three assists. Carroll’s Benji Stetina got in on the action with a pair of assists as well. “The ball movement was excellent considering it rained the majority of the game,” Carroll County head coach Forrest Johnson said. “Our heart and hustle was great.” Carroll will try to make it 2-0 on March 19 with the team’s first road game of the season at Galax.
