City Park Pool will open for the summer during Memorial Day Weekend in Pueblo.

Friday, May 26

Opening weekend at City Park Pool

221 S. Parkside Lane | noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday | Open swim prices are free for children ages 2 and younger, $3 for children ages 3-17, or $4 for adults.

Opening weekend of The Rides at City Park

3425 Nuckolls Ave. | 5-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday | The Rides at City Park will be open for Memorial Weekend and tickets are still only 25 cents.

Saturday, May 27

Colorado Lowrider Supershow at Pueblo Convention Center

320 Central Main St. | noon to 6 p.m. | Colorado's finest lowriders will be featured in the car show and hop, plus there will be live music, a kids zone, food vendors and a beer garden.

The CooperSonics, featuring twin brothers Jim and John Cooper, are set to perform cover songs at the Pueblo Riverwalk Saturday.

Pueblo Toyota Flood Wall Stage located northwest of 101 Union Ave. between Blue Ocean Sushi and Olde Towne Carriage House | 5:30-7 p.m. | The Pueblo musical duo of twin bothers Jim and John Cooper are set to perform rock cover songs to kick off the holiday weekend and the summer music series at Pueblo's Historic Arkansas River Park.

Knights of Columbus Breakfast at Shrine of St. Therese

300 Goodnight Ave. | 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | This fundraiser breakfast features scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, coffee and orange juice. Cost is $8 and takeout is avaialable.

Friday, June 2

Summer Kickoff BBQ at El Centro del Quinto Sol

609 E. Sixth St. | noon to 2 p.m., swimming at Mineral Palace Park Pool, 3-5 p.m. | This family fun kickoff to the summer season will feature a hotdog meal while supplies last, rock painting and a rededication of the rock garden, plus swimming at Mineral Palace Park Pool. The first 25 children age 17 and younger are free. Swimming permission slips must be filled out by a parent/guardian prior to the swim trip. For details, email jplascencia@pueblo.us.

"Wedded to Art" at Steel City Art Works

216 S. Union Ave. | 5-8 p.m. | This First Friday Art Walk event will feature a "Wedded to Art" opening reception with complimentary refreshments, a three-dimensional mixed media art show in the back room and a book signing with "A Breath of Fresh God" author Charissa Fryberger. The exhibits will be on display all month.

131 Spring St. | 6-9 p.m. | Carol Bivins presents her latest work, "Colorphrenia" involving mediums unfamiliar to her such as acrylic paint and canvas. Celeste Santistevan, presents "Pretty Ugly" featuring sassy portraits along with work from her friends.

Havana Night anniversary gala at Sange de Cristo Arts Center

Santa Fe Ave. | Cocktails 6 p.m., Dinner 7:30 p.m. | The 51st annual anniversary gala will celebrate inspiration, education and creativity as key components of Pueblo's cultural and economic vitality. Joe Gatto's Night of Comedy at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open 6 p.m., show 7 p.m. | Joe Gatto, comedian, actor and producer best known for the hit TV shows “Impractical Jokers” and “The Misery Index" will present his live comedy show. The cohost for the “Two Cool Moms” podcast is father to two children and an ever-growing pack of rescue dogs affectionately known as the “Gatto Pups.” Tickets range from $39.75 to $114.75 and are on sale at pueblomemorialhall.com.
