By the Light! We're back for another session of Star Wars School! In contrast to last week's report, this week's book may have been published recently but the events take place a long long looooooong time before the Star Wars movies. On March 12, it will officially be a full year since the entertainment venues in New York City shut down. Although multiple industries closed practically overnight due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be argued that no industry was as heavily impacted as the entertainment industry has been. I remember all the buzz leading up to Six: The Musical's opening on March 12,2020, only for all of Broadway to be put on hold.

After spending a certain amount of time with someone who has a dog, you may begin to wonder "Is it the right time for me to get a dog?" This week’s book report will really feel like high school because Lost Stars is technically a young adult novel. Even though it has the most--um--adult content out of all of the Star Wars novels I’ve read so far. To clarify, it doesn’t cross the border to Star Wars smut, but let’s just say it’s extremely gratifying to have the two characters you want to get together actually physicalize their affections.

My boyfriend and I pride ourselves on being members of the entertainment industry, and as you can imagine it's been a dismal year for both of us. Don't get me wrong--we've had plenty of highlights over the last year. But when your entire industry shuts down overnight it's a hard thing to reckon with. On February 1, 2021, Nike released its newest addition to the FlyEase collection: a completely hands-free sneaker. This pair of sneakers replaces laces with a "tensioner" band that holds the shoe in place both when it’s open and closed. A bi-stable hinge is responsible for the smooth motion to get the shoe on and off. To get them on, you just slide your foot onto the "diving board" and press down. To get them off, you do what you normally do with sneakers and put your toes to the opposite heel and push it off.
