PROVIDENCE, R.I. ( WPRI ) — Police in Rhode Island have arrested a hospital employee accused of placing a hidden camera in a staff bathroom.

Jason Baker, 47, has been charged with video voyeurism.

Baker is accused of putting a USB wall charger outfitted with a hidden camera inside a locked staff bathroom at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence.

The hidden camera was found Tuesday by a staffer and immediately removed from the bathroom, according to a hospital spokesperson. She added that the bathroom where the camera was found is inaccessible to patients and members of the public.

Providence police officers conducted an exhaustive sweep of every single bathroom in the hospital and did not find any other devices, according to officials.

Baker was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon. Police said he admitted to putting the camera in the bathroom when questioned by investigators.

He has since been fired, according to the hospital spokesperson, and can no longer access the hospital and other affiliated facilities.

“The welfare of our staff is our top priority,” the spokesperson wrote in a statement obtained by Nexstar’s WPRI. “We are providing support to affected staff.”

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities said it’s possible Baker could face additional charges.
