Prosper Police are trying to solve a mystery surrounding several missing manhole covers.

Someone is stealing manhole covers in Prosper. Police say that at least 30 manhole covers have gone missing, posing a risk to drivers, pedestrians and the stormwater system.

Is it a prank or something more sinister? That's not clear, but the missing manhole covers are no joke.

Theft of a stormwater manhole cover is a State jail felony and carries a jail term up to two years and a $10,000 dollar fine.

Prosper Police are asking for the public's help. If you know anything about the missing manhole covers or witness any suspicious activity, report it immediately.

To report stolen manhole covers, call the Prosper Police non-emergency number at 972-569-1000 or by using the myProsper app.
