Another man was indicted for allegedly setting a relative's house on fire, while a separate individual was indicted for stabbing his step-father. Searsport Resident Dies as Tree Falls on Vehicle amid Post-Tropical Cyclone Lee
Searsport community is grieving the loss of its resident, Gary Phillips. He tragically died during the aftermath of Post-Tropical Cyclone Lee. A large tree was uprooted in the storm, fell on Phillips' vehicle and brought down powerlines. This resulting accident led to his death. Due to the extensive injuries and the danger from the powerlines, rescuers had to wait until the power was cut off to remove him from the scene. Sadly, he passed away at the hospital later on.

A 50-year-old man died after a tree fell on his vehicle on Route 1 Saturday morning in Searsport. The crash happened around 9 am while he was driving. The Waldo County Sheriff's Office said power lines were taken down by the falling tree near Prospect Street. First responders had to wait for power to be shut off to lines on top of the vehicle before reaching the victim, according to WGME News.

BUKATY and DAVID SHARP Associated Press BAR HARBOR, M.E. - A 51-year-old motorist in Searsport, Maine, died after a large tree limb fell on his vehicle Saturday on U.S. Highway 1 during a period of high winds, the first fatality attributed to the storm. The tree limb brought down live power lines, and utility workers had to cut power before the man could be removed, said Police Chief Brian Lunt. The man died later at a hospital, Lunt said. The man's identity hasn't been released.
