NORTHERN ARIZONA WRANGLERS VS ARIZONA RATTLERS GAME PREVIEW (6.3.23)

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona Wranglers return home to Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center, on Saturday, for a rematch with the Arizona Rattlers.

This Saturday’s in-state rivalry game is brought to you by Coors Light. Both the Wranglers and Rattlers enter this showdown with 5-4 records on the 2023 Indoor Football League season. Each team is coming into the in-state rivalry game on opposite trajectories. The Wranglers have lost two consecutive games on the road, while the Rattlers have won two consecutive games at home. The Wranglers lost to the Rattlers just two weeks ago, in lopsided fashion, by a score of 60-34. This faceoff between the Wranglers and Rattlers is the second of their three scheduled games against each other in the regular season.

The Wranglers need a bounce back victory in front of their home fans to stay relevant in the highly competitive Western Conference playoff race. The Wranglers offense, led by quarterback Garrett Kettle, will be placing emphasis on protecting the football against the Rattlers. The Wranglers defense remains the number one ranked squad in lowest points allowed per game. However, the Wranglers defensive unit has allowed the most points scored against them during their last two games than any two-game stretch prior. The Northern Arizona defense has also produced zero turnovers in their last two games, they will be looking to change that this week.

The Wranglers will need to play a complete and clean game to get the victory against the Rattlers. The Wranglers have cooled down as of late, while the Rattlers have been heating up under quarterback Drew Powell. The importance of this game in the IFL Western Conference Playoff Race cannot be overstated. Except for their last meeting, games between the in-state rivals usually go down to the wire and are intense. The Wranglers will be looking to repeat history with a similar storyline that they wrote against Bay Area Panthers earlier this season. The Wranglers had a lopsided loss on the road against the Panthers and returned home to beat them in a close contest just a few weeks later.

Will the Wranglers bounce back with a victory at home on Saturday against the Rattlers? Come watch the Wranglers compete on Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center to find out! Details on how to get tickets will be included at the end of this game preview below.
