PRESCOTT – In an effort to provide a positive experience for youngsters of the community, Ivory Curry will be hosting a series of fun days throughout the summer.

The first was held Tuesday, June 6, at Curry’s Community Outreach. Children were able to come, watch a movie, enjoy hot dogs and chips, and play video games in the game truck. Curry said with school out young people need something to do, so he’s trying to add an event for them making sure it’s in a safe, positive environment.

A Fire Stick allows those interested in movies to select the age appropriate one they want to watch. Tuesday’s movie was “The Little Mermaid”, live version. Others took advantage of the bounce house to work off some energy, while the majority filled the game truck to play video games, mostly sports-related games.

“I’ll be doing this twice a month,” Curry said. “In the heat of the summer young people need somewhere comfortable and safe.” The fun days will be possible because of community donations. “I want this to be a spot for positive things.”

Curry said not only will the fun days be for having a good time, but they’ll talk about things like drugs, alcohol, vaping and mental health issues.
