Limited to one hit, the Poynette baseball team fell to Lakeside Lutheran 10-0 on the road on Thursday, April 25.

Lakeside only had seven hits, but the Pumas committed three errors to help the Warriors.

Justin Wells pitched for the Pumas (2-7 overall, 0-3 in Capitol North Conference play), going four innings and allowing eight runs — only five were earned. Wells walked five and struck out four.

“Again, we just couldn’t get anything going offensively,” said Davy Tomlinson, head coach for Poynette. “Justin threw pretty well and kept us in the ball game (3-0 into the fifth), but Lakeside was able to get to him and Alex (Busch) for a bunch of runs.”

Brett Hackbart came up with the lone hit for Poynette.
