These Are the Projected Closing Dates for Colorado Ski Resorts
By Izzy Lidsky,
2025-03-13 Unfortunately, ski season eventually has to come to an end. It's sad, of course, but I'm sure there are a few folks out there whose feet could use a break from being crammed into ski boots every weekend.
If you're not one of those people, there's always the backcountry, and there's often snow to be found up high for most of the year in Colorado, even if it's just one or two turns worth. If you're really jonesing for some July turns, a pilgrimage out to the PNW for summer volcano skiing on Mt. Hood is always an option, too.

Even though we're midway through March, there are certainly still turns to be had, as March can be one of Colorado's snowiest months. As of the beginning of the month, more than half of Colorado's ski areas have above-average base depths, which could mean they stay open a bit longer than projected.
Resorts in southern Colorado have had a tougher season, and some are a bit under average for snowpack. Aspen's mountains vary from 72-85% of their average snowpack and have varied closing dates.
Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Eldora, Keystone, Loveland, Monarch, Steamboat, and Winter Park are all above average, and many are hoping to stay open through April and into May. Arapahoe Basin and Mary Jane will stay open as long as possible. Last year, Mary Jane stayed open until May 28.
For now, these are the projected closing dates for Colorado's major ski resorts. Some of these are subject to change based on weather and snow conditions, but this will provide you a rough idea as you plan the last few weeks of your lift-accessed season.
