Veterans Parade To Be Held
Veterans Day is November 11th and the City of Dillon and the Veterans of the Year have planned a Parade for Veterans to honor our veterans. Downtown Coordinator Lisa Moody has announced that Mr. C.P. Mincey, a 100-year-old Navy Veteran, and Mr. Harold Stanton, a 99-year-old Army Veteran, will serve as co-grand marshals for the parade. Army Veteran and 2001 VOY Terry Morris will drive both men at the head of the parade in his award winning 1931 Ford Model A. Veterans are encouraged to form at South Plaza across from the train depot between 9 a.m.-10 a.m. to march in the parade. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. GI Coffee and donuts will be available at the Visitor Center located at 106 S. Railroad Avenue. To ride in a golf cart or register your vehicle for the parade, veterans can contact the city on 843-845-4393. The parade route is from South Plaza to Veterans Square. The community is asked to help celebrate our veterans by lining the parade route along Main Street and/or cheering for them as they arrive at Veterans Square.
