PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Police are investigating a homicide Saturday night in Portsmouth.
According to police, the call for the incident came in around 6:25 p.m. near the 1200 block of Frederick Blvd.
Portsmouth police said a 20-year-old man was shot. An officer at the scene said the victim walked into CHKD following the shooting. He later died from his injuries.
Investigators are now looking for 21-year-old Darien Lee Jones who is considered a person of interest.
Detectives are also looking for a white Dodge Journey SUV.
Editor’s note: An officer at the scene told 10 On Your Side the victim was 19. Police later said the victim was 20.
