DoveLewis has returned to full round-the-clock veterinary care following a short hiatus.
Back in October 2022, the veterinary hospital had to change its hours due to a national shortage of veterinarians and technicians.
“We’re built to be open 24/7, so being closed for ER receiving even just a few hours overnight was difficult. It feels great to get back to our core community services,” DoveLewis President and CEO Ron Morgan says.
DoveLewis says in addition to the 24/7 emergency room, a separate Urgent Care option is available to pet owners. Appointments are available as soon as 30 minutes from booking.
“We’re nimbler than we were before, but we’re still treating patients with the level of care that the community expects of us,” added Morgan.
“Emergencies can happen at any time, animals can get sick, they can get injured, so having an overnight resource that pet owners can rely on is really, really important, and DoveLewis is the highest certified hospital in the state for emergency and critical care, so use getting back to 24-hour service is really important, not just for us, but also for the animals," says Tess Payne, the director of Community Engagement at DoveLewis.
DoveLewis say they expect to treat more than 26,000 animals next year, making it one of the highest-volume veterinary hospitals in the country.
