Car leaves Morrison Bridge, landing on street below killing both occupants, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. —
Portland Police are investigating a crash that killed two men Sunday at about 2:15 a.m.

Police say a black 2003 Mercedes 500 was headed eastbound on the Morrison Bridge viaduct when it struck the barrier and left the bridge, landing on the street below.
Officials say speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. No other vehicles are suspected to be involved.
Police say this is the 25th and 26th traffic fatality of the year in Portland.
