Elmer’s Restaurants’ Parkrose location Thursday had some help serving guests from the 2023 Rose Festival Court.
Elmer’s has a 10-plus-year partnership with the Portland Rose Festival.
Part of it is promoting its annual Rose Meal menu made with fresh strawberries. It includes a fruit waffle combo, strawberry crepe combo and strawberry-apple poppyseed salad.
For every meal purchased, Elmer’s is donating $1 to the Portland Rose Festival Foundation.
Jill Ramos, the vice president of the restaurant, said they are excited to keep the tradition going.
“Elmer’s is a Portland family tradition since 1960. The Rose Festival is a longstanding tradition. We love being a part of that and giving back to the communities we serve,” she said.
“I love connecting with the community and learning about other nonprofit organizations," said Piper Winder, a student at St. Mary's Academy. "It’s been such a fun experience for me to be able to talk to people and see what my community has to offer.”
“I’ve had a lot of my firsts with the Court -- first time at an airport, first time at Pendleton, meeting these girls. It’s been a really great blessing,” said Elizabeth Tran, a student at Clackamas High School.
The three Rose Meals are available through June 25.
They are offered at 10 Portland and Vancouver-area Elmer’s Restaurants.
