A suspect in a stolen dump truck created quite a bit of chaos in NE Portland Thursday morning, says the Portland Police Bureau.
Just after 4:30 a.m., North Precinct officers were sent to a reported hit-and-run crash in the 6300 block of NE Rodney.
Investigating officers determined that a construction dump truck, with an attached trailer and excavator, had been stolen from a nearby job site in the 5700 block of NE Rodney Avenue.
Police say the thief ended up crashing the dump truck and its towed trailer into four cars before coming to a stop in front of a residential yard. 2-3 of the cars were reportedly totaled, and a residential retaining wall was also damaged.
The suspect or suspects fled the scene before officers were called, and there were no arrests.
