2 severely injured in N. Portland after car crashes into tree off Marine Drive

It's unclear what caused the crash.

Two men were seriously injured after crashing into a tree near North Marine Drive Saturday night.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near North Marine Drive and Bybee Lakes Road at 11:55 p.m. Police found a car crashed into a tree and two men inside badly injured when they arrived.

The men were taken to a nearby hospital, police said. One had life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police have not released any details on possible causes.

One driver died in a crash on Marine Drive earlier this month after crashing into a pole.

On the same road in February, two vehicles collided while street racing, killing one person in a fiery crash.

The police Major Crash team is investigating, and ask anyone with information about the crash to email crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 23-139434.
