The Rose Festival officially kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. when CityFair opens at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. There's a live concert and then fireworks after the sun sets. The theme this year is Focus On Fun!
CityFair is filled with carnival rides, fair foods, interactive exhibits, and constant entertainment spanning three weekends through June 11. Don't miss the Ukulele Jam Sunday and Kids, Clowns, and Characters on Monday. General admission is $15. You save $3 if you buy your ticket online.
The 117th Multnomah County Fair is Saturday through Monday noon to 7 p.m. at Oaks Amusement Park in Southeast Portland. It's three full days of family fun including competitive exhibits, musical and stage performances, a car show, a pioneer village, and small animal activities. You can also enjoy all that Oaks Park has to offer including carnival rides, games, and fair food. Admission is free but parking costs $5.
This wine-tasting event celebrates 20 small producers in Oregon. It's at the historic Bindery in Downtown McMinnville from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will also be food. Tickets cost $30.
Five percent of ticket sales will be donated to two veterans organizations. This event is for 21+ only.
The 2nd Annual Holi Spring Harvest Fest is Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Topaz Farm on Sauvie Island. Enjoy music, dancing, powder mischief, dance demonstrations and lessons, farm animals, and South Asian food. Each ticket includes a packet of colors, but you can buy more when you're there. Adult tickets cost $25, kids tickets cost $15. This is a benefit for farmers in India.
