Man accused of punching 6-year-old in the face in NE Portland pleads not guilty to charges

PORTLAND, Ore. —
A homeless man accused of punching a six-year-old outside a Northeast Portland restaurant made a court appearance on Tuesday.

Terrance Spencer pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, reckless endangering, and disorderly conduct.
Police say he punched the child near Northeast 15th Avenue and Alberta Street. Thankfully, the boy wasn't seriously hurt.
Court documents reveal a witness overheard him saying he wanted to “go back to jail.”

Bystanders restrained Spencer until police arrived and handcuffed him.
