After several drizzly and cold days, Portland finally saw wet, drizzly snowfall across the metro area Friday morning.
Mixed precipitation started falling around 8:00 a.m., and was preceded by snowfall in higher-elevation areas.
None of the snow was sticking locally, but roads could be affected and slick due to the slush.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Coast Range, Cascades and Central Oregon, and most of the warnings will not expire until the end of the day on Saturday.
Travel will likely be challenging for many Spring Break destinations across the Pacific Northwest - travelers should be prepared for winter conditions if they have plans to hit the road during that timeframe.
Friday morning also saw several school districts in NW Oregon and SW Washington on snow and winter weather delays.
Frequent showers will continue through Friday and the weekend, with ongoing mixed precipitation like hail.
Temperature highs will consistently be in the 40s through Sunday.
