The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Oregon Coast Range and the Cascades.
Areas above 1500 feet in the Coast Range could see 4 to 6 inches, but more amounts of snow are possible. In the Cascades, at pass level, 15 to 25 inches of snow are possible.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Special Weather Statement saying that snow accumulations of up to an inch to the valley floor are possible Thursday night and Friday night.
Travelers heading over the Coast Range or Cascades should expect hazardous and difficult travel conditions.
“Snow levels will be as low as 500 feet and heavier showers may pull the snow level to the valley floor. For some spots, a dusting will be possible Thursday and Friday mornings. We could see showers, thunderstorms, a rain/snow mixreally a mixed bag of weather through Saturday afternoon,” KATU Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby says.
