Husband and wife connected to 2021 homicide appear in court, plead not guilty

PORTLAND, Ore. —
A husband and wife charged in a death investigation from 2021 were in court today and pleaded not guilty.

Bruce and Karen Chirre were arrested Friday.
Bruce is charged with manslaughter in the 2021 death of Jack Dekker.
A judge set his bond at $150,000.
Karen worked for the Portland Police Bureau as an administrative supervisor.
She faces charges including hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence.
A judge ordered her to report to pre-trial supervision.
Police say Dekker's body was found on a sidewalk in the Goose Hollow Neighborhood in April 2021.
