The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival's soft launch is happening this week, just as spring begins.

Because of the snow that fell in February, the tulips are slow to blossom, but a soft opening started this week and goes through Thursday. Until then, admission is free.

The farm will have food and craft vendors, as well as other activities available.

Officials say if you want to wait until full bloom, the festival runs from March 24 to April 30.
