Porter Public Schools made the call to cancel classes on Thursday after a noncredible threat was made against the district.

Porter Superintendent Kelly Husted said she was alerted late Wednesday night that an alleged bomb or gun threat had been made toward students, staff, and the school.

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office found that the threat was not credible, but further investigation was needed. Superintendent Husted says the FBI is also aware of the situation.

Husted made the decision to cancel classes Thursday to prioritize the safety of all students and staff.

Friday the 24th is a virtual day.

Husted asks that if any student has any information about the incident to email herself or Mrs. Payne.
