Friday's scores

Baseball

Martin County 5, South Fork 4: The Tigers (9-6) plated the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to earn the victory in the Robbie Souza Classic.

Jake Schincariol hit a three-run home run in the first inning that kickstarted the scoring for Martin County.

Nick Robert struck out nine and allowed one earned run in 4⅓ innings and Cody Bennin allowed one run in 2⅔ innings of relief to pick up the victory for the Tigers.

Emory Capps went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Conner Wiggins had two hits and John Roberts struck out five and allowed three earned runs in 5⅔ innings in the loss for the Bulldogs (6-7).

Jensen Beach 11, St. Albans (D.C.) 1 (6 innings): Jake Breen struck out nine, allowed just one hit and allowed one unearned run to lead the Falcons (7-5) to their sixth straight victory. Connor Cantillo went 1-for-3 with a double and drove in two runs and Jake Figman went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs for Jensen Beach.

Softball

Keys Gate 4, Jensen Beach 2: Molly Santiago hit two solo home runs and Mallory Wheeler struck out 14 in the loss for the Falcons (6-3).

Boys Lacrosse

St. Edward’s 17, Montverde Academy 6: Ricky Savage scored five goals to send the Pirates (8-3) to a convincing road victory. Ford Norris added two goals and five assists, Reed Sternberg and Will Russell scored two goals, Keegan Nyman added a goal and two assists, Kieran Colgan, Luke Herrman and Connor O’Brien all added a goal apiece and Colgan made six saves in goal for St. Edward’s.

Holy Trinity 9, Jensen Beach 8: Sean Allen scored two goals and added three assists in the loss for Jensen Beach (4-7). Gio Cascione and Hudson Wilfong also scored two goals, Zack Zainitzer and Dawson Warren scored a goal apiece and Paolo Smith made 15 saves for Jensen Beach.

Flag Football

Fort Pierce Westwood 39, Tradition Prep 0: Jhila Greer threw for 142 yards passing and Velise Destile scored two touchdowns and had 103 receiving yards in the win for the Panthers (5-1).

Fort Pierce Westwood 7, Fort Pierce Central 6: Jhila Greer threw a touchdown pass to Danisha Celisca and connected with Velise Destile for a one-point conversion that held up as the difference for the Panthers (4-1).

Destile caught eight passes for 91 yards for Fort Pierce Westwood.

Ariel Williams scored the lone touchdown of the game for the Cobras (2-3).

Girls Lacrosse

South Fork 15, Pine School 3: Zoe Williams scored five goals to send the Bulldogs (8-1) to a road victory. Katie Hale added two goals and three assists, Ashley Stocker, Maya Francisco and Abby Hill also scored two goals, Avery Weikart added a goal and two assists and Olivia Ray scored a goal for South Fork.

Amber Dunlap scored two goals and Clover DeFilippis added a goal in the loss for the Knights (2-5)

Baseball

Jensen Beach 9, Treasure Coast 1: Joseph Holland struck out nine and allowed just two hits in six shutout innings to send the Falcons (6-5) to their fifth straight victory. Jake Figman had a hit and two RBIs, Chris Knier had a double and an RBI, Cian Copeland went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Ty Velardo, Dominic Donatucci and Kaiden Jones and Preston Honea each had a hit and an RBI for Jensen Beach.

Jacob Suazo went 2-for-2 at the plate in the loss for the Titans (6-7).

Fort Pierce Central 5, South Fork 3: Zane Moody went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Isaiah Baez went 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored two runs in the win for the Cobras (4-6). Ethan Schmidt struck out four in 4⅔ and allowed two earned runs and Ryan Winsker threw 2⅓ scoreless innings of relief to pick up the save for Fort Pierce Central.

John Roberts went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run and Conner Wiggins struck out six and allowed one earned run in five innings in the loss for the Bulldogs (6-6).

Softball

Centennial 2, Jensen Beach 1: Hailey Brereton allowed two hits, allowed an unearned run and struck out 15 to lead the Eagles (6-6) to victory.

Brereton went 1-for-2 and scored both runs for Centennial.

Mallory Wheeler struck out seven in a complete-game effort in the circle and Martha Jones went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the loss for the Falcons (6-2).

Lincoln Park Academy 9, John Carroll Catholic 5: Callan Kloeckner went 3-for-3 and Madison Davis struck out seven in four innings, allowing one run in the win for the Greyhounds (4-2).

Cam Haughton, Makayla Ortiz and Sammi Rychter each had a hit and an RBI in the loss for the Rams (5-4).

Boys Lacrosse

St. Edward’s 15, Jensen Beach 4: Connor O’Brien netted four goals to send the Pirates (7-3) to victory. Reed Sternberg added three goals, Ford Norris scored two goals and picked up three assists, Eli Barin and Luke Herrman both scored two goals, Ricky Savage and Will Russell added a goal apiece and Kieran Colgan made two saves in goal for St. Edward’s.

Sean Allen scored two goals, Gio Cascione and Connor Ferriera added one goal apiece and Erik Galasso made eight saves in goal for the Falcons (4-6).

Girls Lacrosse

Martin County 20, Pine School 9: Amber Dunlap scored five goals, Emily Shirk netted four goals, Emma Tardif-Loper added one goal and Mamie Pfhol made 11 saves in the loss for the Knights (2-4).

Baseball

John Carroll Catholic 13, Taft (CT) 2 (5 innings): Jake Rychter went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and drove in four runs to lead the way for the Rams (8-4). Anthony Ferraro went 1-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs, Tracen Cameron and Taggart Cameron each had a hit and two RBIs and Camrin Weeks struck out nine in a complete-game effort on the mound for John Carroll.

Softball

South Fork 10, Lincoln Park Academy 0 (5 innings): Abbie Dewaters went 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in four runs to lead the Bulldogs (6-4-1) in the win. Emma Ortiz went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs, Alice Dewaters had two hits and scored three runs, Elli Hernandez had a double and two RBIs, Sophie Weimer had two hits and Katie Kidwell allowed one hit and struck out seven in a complete-game effort for South Fork in the circle.

Flag Football

Martin County 25, South Fork 6: Hailey Walsh ran for two touchdowns and added a touchdown catch to lead the Tigers (6-0) their sixth straight win to begin the season. Cali Scornavacca threw two touchdowns, Natalie Belisle had a touchdown catch and made nine flag pulls on defense, Taylor Walsh had a touchdown run and Laniyah Smalls totaled seven sacks and added five flag pulls for Martin County.

Beach Volleyball

Martin County 4, Treasure Coast 1: MC: Emelia Glover/Grace Lee win 21-18, 21-17; Elisabeth Coller/Miane Van den Broek win 21-11, 19-21, 15-13; Alina Macedo/Shelby Stone win 21-15, 21-6; Eckly Carmody/Katelyn Bobo win 21-15, 21-16

Softball

Treasure Coast 3, John Carroll Catholic 1: Brylea Rusler scattered five hits, allowed one earned run and struck out 13 in a complete-game effort to lead the Titans (2-6) to a road victory in Fort Pierce.

Kennedy Moody kicked off the scoring for Treasure Coast as she send a triple to the fence in right field and came in to score on a John Carroll throwing error in the first inning.

Felicity Fonseca and Lexie Phillps each drove in runs in the third inning to give Rusler a lead she wouldn't relinquish.

Rusler stranded two runners in scoring position with a strikeout in the third and outside of an RBI single by John Carroll's Makayla Ortiz in the fifth baffled hitters with a mix of off-speed pitches the entire game.

Ortiz went 2-for-3 and Sammi Rychter had a triple at the plate in the loss for the Rams (5-3).

Jensen Beach 4, Martin County 3 (9 innings): Mallory Wheeler struck out 20 Tiger batters and went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI to help the Falcons (6-1) win in extra innings on the road. Annalise Buncy went 4-for-5 with a double and scored two runs, Martha Jones went 3-for-5 and scored a run and Isabelle Oulette had a hit and two RBI for Jensen Beach.

Bella Waldbauer had a three-hit night in the loss for the Tigers (3-5).

Baseball

Vero Beach 10, Centennial 0 (5 innings): Brock Thomas tossed a no-hitter, striking out four to lead Vero (9-0) to another win to begin their season with nine in a row. Finley Holmes went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in two runs and Keenan Jabeth had a double and an RBI for Vero Beach, who scored six runs in the fifth inning.

Jensen Beach 10, Fort Pierce Central 0 (5 innings): Ty Velardo went 2-for-2 and drove in two runs in an eight-run second inning for the Falcons (5-5) on their way to victory. Cian Copeland had a double and an RBI at the plate and on the mound, Chris Knier struck out four in four shutout innings and Joesph Holland pitched a scoreless fifth inning for Jensen Beach, who has won four straight games.

Flag Football

Martin County 13, Lincoln Park Academy 6: The Tigers (5-0) continued their unbeaten season alive with a win on the road.

Leah Murphy threw for 187 yards and a touchdown and Lahela Cornett caught four passes for 53 yards and a touchdown in the loss for the Greyhounds (2-2).

Fort Pierce Westwood 25, Treasure Coast 24 (OT): Velise Destile had nine catches for 142 yards and three touchdowns to help the Panthers (3-1) rally from an 18-0 deficit. Jhila Greer threw three touchdown passes and had an interception return for a touchdown for Fort Pierce Westwood.
