SAINT WORCESTER COUNTY DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO VULCAN MATERIALS OFF RANGE ROAD IN PORT SAINT LUCIE IN REFERENCE TO AN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT. AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY FOUND AN EXCAVATOR SUBMERGED IN THE POND. WE’RE TOLD A DIVE TEAM RESPONDED TO THE SCENE, BUT THE SITE WAS UNSTABLE. AN OUTSIDE DIVE COMPANY RESPONDED TO THE SCENE THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THE BODY WAS RECOVERED AT APPROXIMATELY 6:25 P.M. THE MINE SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION IS THE AGENCY LEADING THE INVESTIGATION. A SPOKESPERSON THEN RELEASED A STATEMENT FRIDAY MORNING WHICH READS IN PART, THE MINE SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION IS CONDUCTING AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION. MYISHA INVESTIGATES EACH MINING FATALITY AND PREPARES A FATALITY ALERT. A PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION AND A FINAL REPORT. THE AGENCY ALSO SHARED THIS TWEET, WHICH STATES ON MARCH 15, 20, 23, A MINOR DIED AFTER THE BANK OF A POND BROKE AWAY, CAUSING THE EXCAVATOR THAT HE WAS OPERATE IN TO ENTER THE WATER AND BECOME SUBMERGED. THE DECEASED HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED BY FAMILY AS KENNETH WRIGHT FROM PORT SAINT LUCIE. THEY SAY WRIGHT HAS TWO DAUGHTERS AND ONE STEPSON. THE MEDICAL EXAMINER HAS A TRAUMA. THE MAN DIED BY DROWNING.
