Women's lacrosse left in the dust by Stony Brook
The Hofstra University women’s lacrosse team was demolished in the Battle of Long Island by the Stony Brook University Seawolves by a score of 18-5. The win gave Stony Brook their 11th straight regular season conference championship across their days in the America East conference and into the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). The Pride now sit at 9-6 overall and 6-1 in CAA play, putting them in third place in the conference. The Seawolves finished their conference slate with a perfect record for the ninth consecutive season, wrapping up at 8-0 with a 14-2 overall record.

Kieran Callanan and Zach Kucerka each went 2-for-3 as Ridge blanked No. 10 Randolph 6-0 in Randolph. Charlie Paul pitched 3.1 innings, striking out four and walking four, allowing four hits while Matt Faltas went 3.2 innings, striking out two and walking one, giving up one hit, for Ridge (7-4), which won its sixth straight game. On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Hockey Team will be taking on the New York Cancer Foundation in a charity hockey game at Clark Gillies Arena, 575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills, NY. The doors open at 6:30 PM and the puck drops at 7:00 PM. Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, Jr. will be hitting the ice himself for the face off to fight cancer.
