Body of woman from Port Lavaca in Port Aransas crash identified

PORT ARANSAS, Texas - The body of a woman from Port Lavaca who was recovered from the ship channel in Port Aransas has now been identified.

Police say 58-year-old Lynna Koehn was driving a vehicle with a 54-year-old man in the passenger seat. Authorities received a call about a reckless driver around 8:25 p.m. Monday night. When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle went into the water at the ship channel. The vehicle was recovered Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. and pulled from the water around 1 p.m. It was 28 feet below the surface.

Body of woman from Port Lavaca recovered from crash in ship channel at Port Aransas

PORT ARANSAS, Texas - The Port Aransas Police Department confirmed the body of a woman was recovered inside a vehicle that crashed into the ship channel at Port Aransas Monday night. Around 8:25 p.m. police received a 911 call about a reckless driver in the 300 block of N. Beach Rd. When officers arrived they discovered a vehicle went into the water at the ship channel. A 54-year-old man made it to the surface and was rescued. He alerted officers that a woman remained in the vehicle under water.
