CASONO annual spring concert to be held May 21, 2023

The Chorale Arts Society of Northern Oklahoma (CASONO) is pleased to invite the public to attend a free concert of Cinematic Choral Highlights (songs from Movies). The concert will be presented at Grace Episcopal Church 13th and Grand, Ponca City, on Sunday, May 21 at 2 p.m. The Artistic Director is Brandon Haynes, Roustabouts Vocal Director/Adjunct Voice Faculty/Staff at Northern Oklahoma College. Accompanist is Connie Van Ausdall, adjunct faculty of Northern Oklahoma College and retired Director of Music for St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Suzanne Sumpter, who is also adjunct faculty of Northern Oklahoma College.

The music, in order of performance: “O Fortuna” by Carl Orff from Carmina Burana.

“James Bond Theme” arr. By Jay Althouse.

“The Hanging Tree” from The Hunger Games arranged by Mark Brymer, Soloist, Kris Vickery.

“Dry Your Tears, Afrika” by John Williams, adapted by Audrey Snyder from Amistad.

“Moon River” by Hanry Mancini arranged by John Coates, Jr from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“When You Believe” by Stephen Schwartz arranged by John Leavitt from The Prince of Egypt.

“Mary’s Theme” by John Debney arranged by Mike Watts from the movie, The Passion of the Christ.

Soloists: Ken Black, Melanie Williams, Patti Ziegenhain,-------------- It’s All Right by Curtis Mayfield, arranged by Robert Gibson.
