Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Pomona Traffic Collision

POMONA, Calif., Apr. 30 (KNN) — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Holt Avenue in the city of Pomona overnight.

Pomona police officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision around 1 a.m. involving a pedestrian down in lanes on the 900 block East Holt Avenue.

Firefighters and paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but the pedestrian ultimately succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Pomona PD did have someone detained at the location. Officers are still in the beginning stages of their investigation.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.

Pomona PD had both west and eastbound lanes of Holt Avenue closed as they investigated the fatal incident.
