Fatal motorcycle crash victim discovered by passerby

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened late Friday.

According to a news release, a passerby noticed a light in a ditch and when they looked closer, discovered an unresponsive male. Emergency services arrived to begin life-saving measures, but the victim died on the scene.

The motorcycle was found around 9 p.m. on Southeast 113th Street and Southeast 32nd Avenue in rural Polk County north of Runnells.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
