Justice Owen Grannan, 29, of Polk City was arrested Wednesday on a charge of intimidation-assault with a dangerous weapon.

A Polk City man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Wednesday in connection with a May incident in Waukee in which he allegedly brandished a gun during a dispute with a Des Moines man.

Justice Owen Grannan, 29, of 805 Roosevelt St., Polk City, was arrested on a warrant for intimidation-assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to court records, the incident occurred about 11 a.m. May 31 in the 100 block of N.W. Lexington Drive in Waukee, where “Grannan and another male were involved in a verbal dispute.”

In the course of the dispute, Grannan allegedly “went to his vehicle and retrieved a firearm and pointed it at the other party” and did so “with the intent to provoke fear,” according to court records.

Grannan’s alleged actions “placed people in reasonable apprehension of serious injury by pointing a loaded firearm at them,” according to court records.

A warrant for Grannan’s arrested was ordered June 5 in Dallas County District Court and served Wednesday. Grannan is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 19 in Dallas County District Court.
