Sabine Parish man arrested in deadly hit-and-run
MANY, La. -- A Sabine Parish man is in jail after hitting and killing a pedestrian Monday night as he attempted to cross the highway, Police Chief Cheryl Wooley said. The victim is identified as Perry Barnhart, who was in his 50s. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving attempts.

Natchitoches Juneteenth celebration set for June 15
NATCHITOCHES, La. - The City of Natchitoches is excited to host the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 15. The festivities will kick off at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center at 10 a.m. until noon with a Juneteenth Basketball Tournament. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including Future Leaders, 1st Responders and a Celebrity Basketball Tournament. There will be a Health Fair, Pop-up Shops, a portable park, a 3-point contest and performances by Glam Dolls and Weaver Elites.
