What to do in this heat with my 6month old baby?
Title pretty much says it all. In town with my 6 month old baby whilst my husband is at a conference. We’ve done downtown Houston, the outlets and a trip to tarrget but the heat makes it difficult to be outside for too long and I’ve run out of ideas for things to do. Any suggestions for things to do tomorrow?
You used to be able to live an amazing artsy life in Houston for cheap. Is that all gone now?
I've moved away from Houston and I'm wondering if this is still possible. Basically: it used to be that, pre-2010, you could have a gigantic social circle, make friends date etc., with the art crowd for as little as $50 a week - which would include going out multiple times. The further back you go in fact, the easier it gets. In the 90's you could get a great spot in the Montrose for a thousand bucks or less.
Why did Krispy cream fail in Houston ?
I can tell you that A LOT rides on how well the franchise licensee (franchise owner) understands the company they are buying into. A ton of nationally successful brands will fail in a new market if there is not support from the company in terms of Marketing and Advertising and support infrastructure. Most companies will gladly take your money in franchise fees, especially if the liability for success is not on their shoulders. Basically, if the franchise operator does know the ins and outs of how the company is structured, they can sometimes be left stranded in an isolated market with little support from the company they bought into. Krispy Kreme has some more complex machinery that has to be maintained as well. If you can’t get a tech out to fix it because the nearest one is in MS, that HOT NOW light is either not coming on, or will be false advertising.
Food Diversity : What's the most surprising ethnicity of food to be had in a restaurant in Houston?
Houston has many different cultures and therefore cuisines from those cultures. I'm almost always up for trying food from some country or culture. Is there some restaurant nestled in some corner of the city celebrating a culture of food that you don't think most people have experienced? List it!
