Who is Amy Carter?
Amy Carter was born on October 19, 1967, in Plains, Georgia.
She is most popularly known for being the daughter of the 39th US President, Jimmy Carter, and first lady, Rosalynn Carter.
Her mother, Rosalynn Carter, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. The Carter Center said she "died peacefully, with family by her side."
She gained media attention during her childhood when she lived in the White House during Carter's presidency.
Amy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Memphis College of Art. She later earned a master's degree in art history from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Subsequently, she became a known political activist who participated in different sit-ins and protests during the 1980s and early 1990s.
She has three siblings - James Carter, Jack Carter, and Donnel Carter.
Is Amy Carter married?
As of the time of writing, Amy Carter is married to James Wentzel.
The couple met while they were students at Tulane University. They later tied the knot in September 1996.
James worked as a computer consultant. He was also a manager at an Atlanta bookstore named Chapter Eleven, where Amy worked part-time.
They have a child together - Hugo James Wentzel.

Where is Amy Carter today?
Despite her activism in the 1980s and early 1990s, Amy has kept a low profile.
She has neither been seen in public protests nor granting media interviews in recent years.
However, she is known to be a member of the board of counselors at Carter Center that advocates diplomacy and human rights.
