Sunday afternoon, La Salle County deputies responded to a single-motorcycle accident with injuries in South Ottawa Township.
Fifty-six-year-old Manuel Salazar-Vazquez of Plainfield reportedly lost control of his motorcycle, went into a ditch and hit a tree. He was life-flighted to St. Francis in Peoria.
In other sheriff's department news, deputies were called to a reported domestic disturbance at about 7:00 Monday night. The incident occurred on Route 71 in La Salle Township. An Oglesby man, 33-year-old John Cate, was arrested for criminal damage to property and taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Just after 5:00 Monday afternoon, Mendota police responded to a call about a theft in the 1200 block of Jefferson Street. After an investigation, they arrested 59-year-old John Ness of Mendota a few hours later. He was processed and released with a July 13 court date.
