    $800M Mega Millions jackpot won; 4 other ticketholders earn $1 million each

    TAMPA, Fla. ( WFLA ) — A winner has been announced for the $800 Mega Millions jackpot, according to the game’s website.

    The winning numbers for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing were 1, 2, 16, 26, 66, and Mega Ball 6.

    The Texas Lottery said the winning jackpot ticket was purchased at a Murphy USA gas station at 7520 Highway 90 A in Sugar Land, Texas.

    Aside from the jackpot winner, there were four winners of the second-tier $1 million prize in Florida, California, New York and Washington.

    The Mega Millions website stated that the estimated $800 million jackpot, which had a cash value of $401.8 million, was the seventh-largest prize in the game’s history:

    1. $1.602 billion: Aug. 8, 2023; Florida
    2. $1.537 billion: Oct. 23, 2018; South Carolina
    3. $1.348 billion: Jan. 13, 2023; Maine
    4. $1.337 billion: July 29, 2022; Illinois
    5. $1.128 billion: March 26, 2024; New Jersey
    6. $1.050 billion: Jan. 22, 2021; Michigan
    7. 800 million (estimated): Sept. 10, 2024
    8. $656 million: Mar. 30, 2012; Illinois, Kansas, and Maryland
    9. $648 million: Dec. 17, 2013; California and Georgia
    10. $552 million: June 4, 2024: Illinois

    The current jackpot is now $20 million. The next drawing is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13 at 11 p.m.
