Sime Leads Way on Mound, at Plate as Pittsfield Moves On

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Cam Sime struck out 10 on the mound and hit a three-run home run Monday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 9-3 win over Triton Regional in the Division 3 State Tournament Round of 32.
 
Sime went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk and scored twice in a 13-hit attack for the Generals.
 
On the hill, he allowed four walks and four hits in a complete-game effort.
 
Jake Duquette and Walker Abdallah each had two hits and each doubled. Abdallah went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
 
Pittsfield broke open a close game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, when Duquette, Jackson Almeida, Ben Jacob and Abdallah each drove in a run to open a six-run lead.
 
Twelvth-seeded Pittsfield (12-8) moves on to face No. 5 Tantasqua (19-2), a 3-1 winner over Dover-Sherborn on Monday, in the Round of 16.
