    Steelers rookies’ numbers out-who else wore it

    PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The numbers for the rookies are official. There are some former players that also wore the number with the Steelers.

    10-Roman Wilson-WR
    ·     The most recent is Mitch Trubisky
    ·     Some receivers including a Super Bowl MVP wore it-Santonio Holmes, Martavis Bryant, Ryan Switzer
    ·     Kordell Stewart and Scott Campbell are other quarterbacks

    29-Ryan Watts-DB
    ·     It was worn last year by corner Levi Wallace
    ·     It hasn’t been a kind number Kalen Ballage, Wendell Smallwood, Kameron Kelly, Brian Allen, Lance Brown, Cornell Gowdy, Brent Sexton are among those to wear it for less than a year
    ·     Pittsburgher Ryan Mundy wore it along with Chidi Iwuoma
    ·     RB Barry Foster was the most productive in the number

    41-Payton Wilson-LB
    ·     Multiple people wore that number last year including Jalen Elliott and former Pitt tailback Qadree Ollison
    ·     Robert Spillane made some plays and DB Lee Flowers wore it the longest
    ·     Known for playing with the Bengals and now NFL broadcasts, Solomon Wildcots wore it in 1992

    54-Zach Frazier-C
    ·     LB Kwon Alexander wore it for a couple of months last year
    ·     The most notable was LB Hardy Nickerson
    ·     Long snapper Mike Schneck for it for 5 years

    66-Mason McCormick-G
    ·     It is the number for successful guards over the last couple of decades
    ·     No one has worn it since first-round pick David DeCastro did with distinction from 2012-2020
    ·     Hall of Famer Alan Faneca wore 66

    74-Logan Lee-DL
    ·     Last year’s seventh-round pick Spencer Anderson wore it all last season
    ·     A few notable guards wore it—Chris Hubbard, Willie Colon, Terry Long, Ray Pinney
    ·     The last defensive player to wear it was Chris Sullivan, for one year

    76-Troy Fautanu-OT
    ·     Chukwuma Okorafor wore it the last five years, before that was Mike Adams
    ·     Chris Hoke won a couple of Super Bowls in that number as did John Banaszak on the defensive line
    ·     Kevin Henry played 117 games in it from the mid-to-late 90s
