Pitt Commit Jashear Whittington Taking Another Visit to Pittsburgh

The Pitt Panthers' first commit in the 2024 class will be on campus this weekend.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers' first commit in the class of 2024 and one of their highest-rated players in this cycle, will take yet another visit to the Steel City this weekend.

Jashear Whittington, a four-star defensive tackle from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, announced on Twitter that he would be in Pittsburgh while the Panthers host more than a dozen recruits for official visits.

Two other Pitt commits - defensive lineman Francis Brewu and running back Julez Goff - will also be in town at the same time.

Whittington, who is always active trying to help the coaching staff recruit other top prospects, will likely serve as an extension of the Panthers this weekend. He was the first player to commit to Pitt's class of 2024 and hasn't wavered since, so with his commitment locked down he will do some up close and personal recruiting with the many talented prospects set to be in Pittsburgh this weekend.

A four-star prospect according to Rivals, Whittington is ranked as high as the No. 12 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 14 defensive lineman in the class of 2024.
