PITTSBURGH — Marching band members from three Pittsburgh schools are in Washington, D.C. this weekend to perform in the Memorial Day Parade.

Pittsburgh Public Schools will be represented by band members from Taylor Allderdice High School, Brashear High School and Obama Academy.

The band, called “One Band One Sound” brings together three school marching bands to represent the City of Pittsburgh.

“These kids are going to show the entire country that Pittsburgh is filled with tremendous musical talent and a spirit of cooperation,” said Mayor Ed Gainey. “I’m incredibly proud of these kids, their parents, teachers, and everyone who helped provide this opportunity for our children.”

Eighty students left with their chaperones on Saturday morning.
