Pitt Announces Full List of Pro Day Participants

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have officially scheduled their 2023 football Pro Day and 13 former players will be participating in the testing and scouting events next week at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
The group of Pitt prospects that will perform in front of NFL scouts and executives is headlined by the six that attended the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana three weeks ago. Safety Brandon Hill, running back Israel Abanikanda, defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, linebacker SirVocea Dennis, defensive end Habakkuk Baldonado and offensive tackle Carter Warren will all be in attendance and are expected to complete the full range of tests and drills.
Few of the Panthers who attended the Combine completed all the drills at that event. Baldonado and Hill participated fully, but they were the only two players unincumbered by injury to attend. Dennis was dealing with a foot injury suffered in the Senior Bowl last month, Kancey was still getting back to 100% after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last November, Abanikanda tweaked his hamstring while training during the winter and Warren was also still recovering from a shoulder injury that kept him sidelined for the second half of his final collegiate season.
Seven other former Panthers will run, jump and lift at the event, which will be their final chance to impress scouts with their physical skills and measurables before April's NFL Draft. Defensive end Deslin Alexandre, center Owen Drexel, safety Erick Hallett, offensive tackle Gabe Houy, guard Marcus Minor, wide receiver Jared Wayne and linebacker Tylar Witlz will also be in attendance to show off their skills.
Pro Day is scheduled for March 29 and will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Panthers' weight room with the bench press and individual measurements before moving to the indoor practice facility for the vertical jump, Broad jump, 40-yard dash, pro shuttle, three-cone drill and individual position skill work.
