The Pittsburgh Steelers are making coaching changes to their defense, hiring a former Baltimore Ravens assistant and promoting a long-time member of the staff.
The Steelers announced they have hired Jason Brooks as their defensive quality control coach. Brooks comes to Pittsburgh from Baltimore, where he's spent the last two years, and five years total.
His coaching career started in 2006 with Middle Tennessee State, and has including stops with the Miami Dolphins, Florida International, Maine’s Colby College, and Charleston Southern.
The team has also promoted Denzel Martin to outside linebackers coach.
Martin joined the Steelers in 2016 and has since worked with the team's outside linebackers and defensive line. He started his coaching career in 2015 as a recruiting graduate assistant at the University of Missouri, where he played linebacker at from 2010-2014.
Martin and Karl Dunbar have had control of the outside linebacker coaching the last few years, so not much will change following the promotion.
