The Pittsburgh Steelers have dubbed Kenny Pickett their franchise quarterback going forward and added an underrated blocker for his protection.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett out of Pittsburgh, the move to a new era was imminent. Now it’s time to bring in reinforcements.

The Steelers announced the signing of former Eagles guard Isaac Seumalo to a three-year deal as part of an effort to build a stout offensive line in front of their young franchise quarterback,

While with the Eagles, Seumalo was part of two teams that played in the Super Bowl, one of which won it all back in 2017. Now, he heads to a different area in Pennsylvania to a team with great tradition but needs help in the worst way.

The Steelers are looking to get back in the picture with Baltimore and Cincinnati ruling atop the AFC North. The best way to do so is to have an elite quarterback, which requires weapons, which Pittsburgh essentially has, and a solid offensive line, which they are currently attempting to build.

Steelers signed Isaac Seumalo to builf around franchise QB Kenny Pickett.

The AFC is already crowded. Patrick Mahomes continues to reign supreme. Josh Allen is knocking on the door. Joe Burrow had his moment, but a penalty in the Super Bowl against the Rams denied him a ring. He will be back. Lamar Jackson is still in Baltimore as of now, and Trevor Lawrence is ascending. Kenny Pickett needs all the help he can get.

Justin Herbert is still there, and despite a playoff collapse, he, too, can come back into the mix. If Aaron Rodgers ends up with the Jets (who knows?), Gang Green is in the mix, as is Tua with the Dolphins. Furthermore, if Cleveland somehow rights the ship with Deshaun Watson, they could also be in the thick of things. As such, the Steelers don’t exactly have an easy path.

Gone are the days of the Steelers, Colts, and Patriots reigning in the AFC. It is a brutal stretch, and only the fittest will survive. Isaac Seumalo helps, but one guard signing won’t move the needle in this court. It’s going to make more, but every little bit helps in achieving the ultimate dream.
